The Principal's Welcome letter attached provides you with a a wealth of information you and your student need to have a great year at North Bethesda Middle School! By August 29th all students entering 7th grade must provide to the school proof that they have received tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis, and Meningococcal vaccines. See the link above for a list of clinic locations and hours of operation that offer these vaccinations free of charge for students.
We urge you to read as much as possible during summer break. Before you return in the fall, you are required to read TWO books. You may choose to read fiction or biography. You are required to complete a Literature Profile for one of the books. You will receive credit for the completion of the profile. You may expect an in-class writing assignment that is directly related to your summer reading.
The North Bethesda
Math Department asks that students review math concepts over the summer. This helps
students retain mathematics knowledge and prepares them for success upon their
return to school in the fall. Students will have
access to a site that is designed to help all MCPS middle grades students
maintain their math skills during the summer months. These online resources
will provide students with multiple opportunities to review concepts from this
past school year. See the link above for full details.
Each Grade Level Team emails Weekly Updates to parents/guardians. They include important dates, announcements, and what is going on in
classe. ALL 6th grade parents and only new 7th and 8th grade parents need to register. Please click on the link above to register.
