Beginning String Objectives

Below are the course objectives for beginning string students. 

 

Instrumental Music Objectives, First  Marking Period

Beginner String  Instruments

 

The student will:

Rehearsal Skill—

Materials

Bring instrument, music, shoulder rest, and pencil to every rehearsal.

Rehearsal Skill—Playing Position

Sit tall on the edge of the chair, with feet flat on the floor.

Position instrument correctly, with left wrist straight and elbow held away from the stomach.

Hook the right thumb under the fingerboard for plucking position.
