Graduation dates and times are picked by schools based on numbers drawn by Principals in the "graduation date lottery." This information is announced at WJ as soon as it is available.

There is a MANDATORY rehearsal for all graduating seniors on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 7:45 a.m. in the Walter Johnson cafeteria. Due to logistics, any student who is late or misses’ rehearsal for any reason will be placed at the end of the processional at the graduation ceremony. If there is a conflict, please contact Ms. Regina Rodriguez, Senior Class Administrator right way. If an emergency arises on May 27th, please call the front office. 

At this rehearsal, seniors will receive their caps, gowns, and graduation tickets.  

This year's Graduation TBA at the Xfinity Center at University of Maryland College Park.


About Graduation Tickets

  • Each graduate will receive 10 tickets per family. Graduates do not require a ticket to enter.
  • Tickets will be distributed after graduation rehearsal.
  • If you need more tickets or if you know you will have tickets from your allotment that will go unused, you should visit the front office after they are distributed at rehearsal.
  • Questions about graduation tickets should be emailed to Laura Brager

SEATING FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

If you are bringing family members who may need assistance or require handicapped seating, please note that only the person with the need, plus one other person will have access to handicapped seating. The entire family/group will NOT be seated with that person. Handicapped parking is available in lot 4B; a permit is required. Guests with handicaps should enter through gate C to the upper concourse level.

LANGUAGE TRANSLATION

If your family requires sign language or other language translation, please contact Ms. Karen Onley no later than Monday, April 15, 2019. A designated seating area in section 114 will be reserved for the hearing impaired.

VIDEO COVERAGE

The graduation will be recorded and the option to purchase a DVD as well as an individual photo of each graduate with the principal, Ms. Baker, will be sent to the graduates' homes in mid-summer. Please keep an eye out for ordering information from the WJ Booster Club.
