This week’s Rosemont Community Connection features five important messages.

Safety Drill:
As an MCPS requirement, Rosemont must practice six safety drills during the 2018-2019 school year.  For the safety and security of our students and staff, we will conduct a fire drill this week.  Please remind students about behavior expectations during safety drills.

PTA Holiday Shop:
The PTA Holiday Shop will be open from December 10 through December 14. Students will be able to purchase gifts for their family and/or friends at reduced prices. The Rosemont Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is a volunteer organization made up of parents and guardians, teachers, school administrators, staff and other community members.  If you have not joined the PTA yet, please join the PTA.  The membership application is attached.

Interims:
All students in grades K through 5 will bring home their quarter two interim on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.  Please take the time to review your child’s progress and create academic goals with your child.

Car Rider - Drop off:
All students who arrive, by car, must be dropped off at the drop-off circle only. In the morning, the drop off circle is closed until 8:40 a.m. To ensure student safety, please do not drop off students before this time.  The entrance to the car drop-off circle is located on S. Westland Drive. Please do not park in the circle and get out of your car. In addition, children should not be dropped off in the front parking lot or the bus lane.

Open Door Policy:
At Rosemont, we are committed to fostering positive relationships with students and families.  As a result, administration has an open door policy and families are always welcomed. However, unless it is an absolute emergency, please call the school to schedule an appointment whenever you wish to meet with an administrator. Scheduling an appointment will ensure administration can provide you with the time and attention to address all questions and concerns.
