Music

Ms. Krista Lottes

Hi!  My name is Krista Lottes and I am thrilled to be a part of the Oak View Family!  I taught elementary music and chorus in Anne Arundel County for 10 years before coming to Oak View!  I love to sing and play all different instruments, but my specialty is the clarinet.  I went to Grove City College near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I earned my degree in Music Education.  I have a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University in Baltimore and in 2017 I also achieved my National Board Certification!

I live with my husband, my son Flynn, and our two bulldogs, Maggie and Obi!  In my free time I like to spend time with my family, exercise, cook, and read!  I can't wait to make music with all of Oak View this year!

Instrumental Music

 Mr. Burns

My name is Geoffrey Burns and I am the instrumental music teacher at OVES. I have been teaching since 1999 where I started in Baltimore County. I then taught instrumental music (4-8) in the Catholic Schools in the Montgomery/DC/Prince George's area for two years. I started in MCPS in the 2002-2003 school year, and have taught at every level (4-12) at some point in my career.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy playing trumpet, am an amateur (ham) radio operator, and am the Deputy Chief of the Laytonsville District Volunteer Fire Department. I am a tech guy, and like learning about computers, gadgets, networks, and how they operate.
