Dear Meadow Hall Families and Partners,

I am excited and humbled to serve as the Principal of Meadow Hall Elementary School. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be in a community where kids come first and adults work collaboratively to address the needs of each and every child.

I was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in a small town called Pocomoke City. I grew up in this close knit community as an honor student with an amazing mother who maintained high expectations for me by assuring that I did what I needed to do to invest in a quality education. I come from a large extended family that has played a huge part in who I am as a person and school leader committed to the growth and development of children.

Over my 21-year tenure in MCPS, I have served in a few capacities to help support the increase of student academic achievement and social emotional well-being. My career in MCPS began in 2000 serving for 12 years as a classroom teacher in grades 3-5. My leadership role expanded to meet the needs of students in our district as I later served as a staff development teacher for five years. In this role, I supported district initiatives to create the conditions necessary for every student to experience academic excellence through the development and implementation of professional learning for staff, coordinated programs for my school and community, and a focus on learning and accountability to assure student academic success at the school in which I served. I served for three years as Assistant Principal at Glen Haven Elementary School where I supported the vision of being empathy-informed educators that provided rigorous instruction to meet the needs of all students. My most recent leadership experience took place at Brookhaven Elementary School where I served as Principal Intern.

As Principal of Meadow Hall ES, I hope to establish a collaborative school culture of high academic achievement and positive social-emotional learning experiences for all students in a safe, engaging, and culturally responsive learning environment. It is my intention to work collaboratively with administration, families and the larger Meadow Hall community to make sure that all students at MHES receive the best educational experience possible.

I want to personally thank the entire community  for allowing me to join the Meadow Hall family.  I look forward to beginning  and continuing the journey with you all for years to come!
