7th grade World Studies Finance Park Field Trip

7th grade World Studies

Attention 7th Grade families: Our 7th grade World Studies students at Loiederman will be participating in an exciting program in MCPS known as JA Finance Park. This program will provide our students with the opportunity to actively participate in lessons over the next few months that will get them thinking about different ways to look at money so that they ultimately have a much more thorough understanding of concepts like careers, income, taxes, savings, managing risk, debit vs. credit, budgeting, and much more!

On Monday, December 16th, Tuesday, December 17th, and Wednesday, December 18th, our 7th grade students will be going on a field trip to JA Finance Park at Einstein High School. This is the culminating activity for 7th grade students for having successfully completed the JA Finance Park curriculum in their World Studies classes. During the simulation, students will be living the life of an adult and making decisions based on a life situation they have been given. There is no cost for this field trip, but students must bring in a signed permission slip to their World Studies teacher in order to attend.

If you are a parent/guardian or family member of the student and would like to come volunteer and help guide other students through these financial life decisions please contact your student's World Studies teacher if interested. Must be at least 18 years old to volunteer.
