Technology Program Goals
Goal #1: To increase student learning and achievement through the integration of technology into the curriculum.
- Current software to support math indicators- Mighty Math series, Graph Club, Kidspiration 2
- Current software to support reading, writing and language indicators- Bailey’s Bookhouse, Pair-It Books, Instant Readers, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Clicker 5, Kidspiration 2, Imagination Suite
- MKES Student Links Web Page to compiled web sites for all curriculum areas
- Classroom computer centers during the math and reading blocks
- Weekly technology class with technology coordinator
Goal #2: To provide experiences for students that will help them develop technology skills and competencies aligned with the Maryland Technology Literacy Standards for Students.
- Review the MTLSS and incorporate standards into lessons and projects
- Create grade level appropriate technology skills checklists to target and monitor student progress
Goal #3: To provide training and other opportunities to increase staff’s knowledge and skills to integrate technology into instruction.
- Complete and compile technology assessment by staff members
- Provide monthly training sessions based on survey
- Create opportunities for co-teaching experiences through project based modules
Goal #4 To provide training and support to staff in using technology to collect and analyze student data.
- Training on the PDA for mCLass Reading 3D and support in troubleshooting
- Training on graphing software for collection and display of student data
- Support in the continued development and implementation of Student Data Notebooks
Goal #5: To provide resources for parents to increase student learning at home.
- Online video clips on instructional strategies on school web site

Goal #6: To provide training for parents on requested technology topics in coordination with Linkages to Learning and the Even Start Program.
- Coordinate and work with Linkages Case Manager and Even Start Teacher to create parent classes on basic computer skills and other technology topics as needed
- Coordinate and work with Linkages Case Manager and Even Start Teacher on identifying times for parents to use the Tech Center for English language practice through the public library’s online Rosetta Stone
