S-A-T WORD OF THE DAY:  

 

Interested in fighting for progressive causes in your community?  Want to be part of a nationally recognized movement?  Then follow and join Einstein 4 Change.  There will be an interest meeting TOMORROW during lunch in Room 154. 

 

The 2nd meeting  of the Jaime Escalante club will take place TOMORROW in Ms. O'Neils room, Portable 1 at lunch.

Applications are due on Wednesday by the end of the day.

 

Attention Environmental club members, environmental stewards, and anyone interested in having a positive impact on our local environment.  Come join us this Thursday in room 217 during the 2nd half of lunch.  Come join your fellow Einstein students that want to make where we live a little more "Green".

 

Do you want to be a High School Chaperone for Outdoor education? Do you want to earn 30 SSL Hours? Silver Spring International Middle School is looking for high school students to chaperone at Outdoor Education. You will be expected to support students in various activities, eat meals with students, and monitor students overnight. Please see Ms. Ramos in the counseling office if you're interested.

 

Attention future lawyers!  The Mock Trial interest meeting has been rescheduled to this Thursday, September 27 during the first half of lunch in Room 154. If you like arguing, debate, acting, or public speaking, you will enjoy being a member of the Mock Trial team.  Please see Mr. Nappo with any questions.

 

Any 11th grader who wants to take the PSAT on October 10th, MUST turn in their registration form to Mrs. Lehman in the Career Center. The cost of the test is $16.00. Students receiving free and reduced meals are eligible to have this fee waived.  Juniors who do NOT register to take the PSAT, will be assigned to take the Accuplacer. Please turn in your registration form by the end of the week.

 

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! Originally starting 1968 as a one week celebration, it is now a month long celebration - from September 15th to October 15th. Hispanic Heritage Month specifically starts in the middle of the month because the 15th marks the independence day of five Latin American countries. We, the student leadership class, are looking for student performers and models to participate in upcoming presentations. If interested, please see Ms. Moore in room 205.

 

The Happiness Club welcomes you to a new school year! Come join us in room 138 for our kick off meeting TODAY. We will brainstorm ideas for creative projects to do this school year in an effort to spread happiness! Have a great day! J

Than Forensics is the club for you!  We are a competitive speaking and acting club that competes against school across the county.  Come to Ms. Shipley's room at lunch on Wednesdays to find out more!

GLI has moved their meeting to Thursday, September 27 during the first half of lunch in Ms. Shaffer's room, room 144. Come help GLI kick off an exciting new year!

 

Did you know there is an honor society JUST for artists?! Do you like making art and making a difference in your community? The National Arts Honor Society is taking applications until Oct 2nd. Applications can be found outside Mrs. Harnish's Classroom- Room 38.

 

The Christian Club is sponsoring "See You At The Pole". This is a national, non-denominational, prayer event scheduled for TOMORROW, September 26 in the morning at 7:20 a.m at the Pole in front of our Main Entrance Door.   The event will conclude at 7:35 a.m. All faculty, staff, and students of Albert Einstein are welcome to attend.

 

Class of 2022 will have a meeting every Tuesday to discuss homecoming plans. If you are interested in class offices, powderpuff or helping with homecoming hallway decorations, come to room 152 at the beginning of lunch.

 

Seniors!  We're working on homecoming decorations every Tuesday and Thursday after school in room 216 from 2:30 - 4:30.  If you've always wanted to be a part of homecoming decorations, now's your chance!  Come out and help the Class of 2019 be Back to Back Hallway decoration Champs!

 

Maryland Congressman Jamie Raskin, district 8, is accepting applications at this time for seniors interested in attending the following service academies. U.S. Military Academy, West Point, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Merchant Marine, and U.S. Coast Guard. He can nominate up to 10 individuals for each academy slot allotted to his district.  Application Deadline: October 1, 2018. Prospect College is a vocational school located in Washington, D.C. They offer programs in health fields such as: Medical Assistance, Medical Administration, and PC Specialist. They will be visiting the Career Center TODAY at 10:30. Please see Mrs. Lehman for a College visit pass.

•Omega Psi Phi Essay Scholarship is open to seniors till October 19th and Awards up to $5,000.
•The Horatio Alger Scholarship is open to Seniors with a 2.0 GPA attending a 4 year college til October 25th.
