We have extended the Summer RISE registration to close on March 29 at midnight. I am asking you to share the following information about Summer RISE with students, parents, teachers and school staff to make sure students and parents are aware of this wonderful opportunity. It is a free program for students. School staff may need to personally reach out and identify students for the program. We hope that school staff will support students and parents who may need help with the registration process. All resource counselors and CCICs have been in meetings and are versed on Summer RISE.
Student registration for Summer RISE launched this week. We want to ensure that students from all high schools have the opportunity to participate in Summer RISE. We are reaching out to you because your school has a low registration number.
We are extending the registration deadline to March 29 at midnight to allow for staff to support students in registering for this free opportunity. Details about the program and the registration link can be found at
Summer RISE is a career-based exploration program for rising MCPS juniors and seniors from July 8-July 26. Students must be available all days of the program to participate in Summer RISE and will need to attend a mandatory two-hour workshop on professional skills and financial literacy if accepted into the program.
Participating students who complete the program will:
· Receive a $300 stipend
· Receive an MCPS Certificate of Completion
· Learn about a career of interest and what it entails
· Learn about professional skills employers would like future employees to have
· Learn about career opportunities available in Montgomery County near your school and home
Students will need to read the 2019 Summer RISE Student Agreement and upload the signed Parent/Guardian Consent Form which can be uploaded as a .pdf or taken as a picture to upload. Your counselors are encouraged to sit with students to help them with the application process if needed.
