AP Scholar Awards – If you were notified that you will be receiving an AP Scholar Award next week, please check to see that your name is on the list on the window outside of the main office. Names are listed alphabetically by award category.

Iced Coffee and Smoothies are available in the café - $1.50.

Seniors – if you have a November 1st college application deadline, please get your transcript requests in to Mrs. Carey ASAP. Be sure to bring the Authorization to Release Pupil Record signed by your parent AND the completed Senior Information Summary from Naviance.

Spirit Week
Friday – Fantasy Lands

The Homecoming Dance is tomorrow from 8 to 11 in the main gym.

Homecoming tickets are $20. You can purchase a ticket in the auditorium lobby before school and during lunch or in Ms. V’s room, 231. You may not purchase a ticket if you have an obligation from the business office or media center.

Homecoming corsages and bouts are to be picked up in room 105 today. See Mrs. Mayhew if you have any questions.

The American Legion in Damascus is holding a contest related to the U.S. Constitution. High school students will give a speech on a topic related to the constitution. Prize money is available, with a first place price worth $500.00! If you are interested and would like to receive more information, please talk to your social studies teacher or see Mr. Buffum in his office during lunch, which is room 248.

From the College and Career Center:
If you are interested in fashion or the arts, come today at 10am to the career center to meet with representatives from the Los Angeles Fashion Institute of Merchandising and Design.

For 10th-12th graders, if you are interested in attending a college fair during the school day. It is on November 8th. Come to the career center to sign up.

Attention 11th and 12th grade students:
DHS would like to offer two other MC classes in the spring-Introduction to Business and Cybersecurity. Please see Mrs. Poker in the counseling office if you are interested in these courses or any other MC classes.

SSL HOURS

Need SSL Hours? Love Halloween? The Olney Boys & Girls Community offers SSL hours for students helping at the Field of Screams Maryland at OBGC! Students MUST BE 16 and older. Go to Screams.org, choose Field of Screams and click JOBS, fill out the application and we'll contact you!

Volunteers Needed! Earn SSL Hours! October 20, 2018 at the Damascus Harvest Fest at the Damascus Fire Hall on Lewis Dr. The Fighting for Kaiden Foundation needs several volunteers to work the silent auction table and to work/watch the self-serve photo booth. SPORTS NEWS

For anyone interested in Swimming or Diving on the Varsity Swim & Dive Team this winter season, please attend the mandatory meeting immediately after school at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, October 24th in room 120.

For anyone interested in playing Baseball this coming Spring, both JV and Varsity, there is a mandatory meeting during lunch on Monday October 22.
