Kindergarten Orientation Needs YOUR help! |
![]() |
It is that time of year again, when we welcome our incoming Kindergarten families to CGES. On May 23rd & May 24, we need parent volunteers to help with the orientation. Volunteers are needed to: set up refreshments, hand out name tags, take pictures of the students, upload pictures of students (cut and glue to note cards) and be a friendly face to help ease with transition. Volunteer slots are:
- Thursday, May 23rd: 8:30-9:30, 10-11, 12-1, 1:30-2:30
- Friday, May, 24th: 8:30-9:30, 10-11, 12-1, 1:30-2:30
If you can help, please email: Jen Green at hahleewude@verizon.net with available dates/times.
P.S. Remember there is no school for Kindergartners on May 23rd and 24th!

With only one week left in the race, Ms. Hafer’s class is pulling away. Her class is leading the way with over 500 Box Tops, that’s 90 more Box Tops than the second place class (Ms. Gilbert). Can Ms. Gilbert’s class come back and take the lead?? Is there a stealth class holding on to all their Box Tops until the very end?? This race is getting exciting!!
The top 5 classes are (1) Ms. Hafer, (2) Ms. Gilbert, (3) Ms. Tubiolo (5th place last week), (4) Ms. Hernandez (3rd place last week), and (5) Mrs. Adams (4th place last week).
Because of Kindergarten Orientation on May 24th and the Memorial Day holiday, this competition has been extended to Tuesday, May 28th. The class that turns in the most Box Tops will get to keep the money that they raise from the Box Tops for this period. The winning class gets to decide on what they would like to do with the winnings. So, if the winning class turns in 1000 Box Tops, that class gets to spend $100!!!
Start sending Box Tops to school now!!!! If you need collection sheets, they can be found at: http://www.boxtops4education.com/Image.aspx?id=6671
Don’t forget to put the teacher’s name on your sheets.
Teachers: Please submit all of your collected Box Tops in the Box Tops box every Friday. Any loose Box Tops should be put into a baggie with your name on it. I can’t credit your class if your name isn’t on it.
If you have any questions regarding the Race to the End competition, please email I-Hsin McConnell at BoxTops_CGES@yahoo.com.
