College transcript requests for the Class of 2018 will be accepted on (or after)  September 15, 2017.

 

Profile Class of 2017    The profile for the Class of 2018 will be available mid to late September.

 

 College transcripts are handled through the Registrar's Office (room 111), by our registrar, Mrs. Lantos.  Students should make requests before school, during lunch or after school.  Requests cannot be made during class periods.    

Senior Planning

 

College Packet for the Class of 2018 was due by June 1, 2017 (unless otherwise specified by your counselor).

The "COLLEGE PACKET" can be found by logging onto your Naviance account. The link to your Naviance/Family Connection sign-in is on the left-hand column of this web page under "Counseling Links."

 

 Counselors will be meeting with seniors during English classes on either September 11 or September 12 to explain the transcript request process and other procedures associated with college applications. 

 

 Senior Parent Program-Navigating the College Application Process will be held, Tuesday, September 12, 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the auditorium.  

 
   
 DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR REQUESTING A TRANSCRIPT

 

Hard copies of the documents necessary for the Class of 2018 will be given to seniors by their counselor during the September 11-12 meetings.  Copies will also be posted here after those meetings.

 


A College Financial Aid Program will be held September 19, 2017 at 7 pm in room 126.


Maryland College Night, a presentation by admissions officers from public and private universities within the State of Maryland, will be held September 26, 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

         
 

 COLLEGE PLANNING SCHEDULE 

 
 Summer/Fall  of junior year

Request applications from colleges and/or trade schools. Set up file system. Register for the ACT, SAT I, and/or SAT II if you need to retake it. Stay abreast of all scholarship opportunities. Go to fastweb.com Review high school records, including graduation requirements. Complete any remaining student service learning hours. Complete your "College Planning Packet." Revisit college and/or trade and technical schools. Talk to admissions representatives who visit your school. Seek out scholarship information and apply as appropriate.

 Fall of senior year
Familiarize yourself with your Churchill's transcript request procedure and follow it. Requests for transcripts are made through Mrs. Lantos's office (Room 111: Registrar's Office) on or after September 15. All requests are made before school, during lunch or after school.  Register for ACT, SAT I, and SAT II tests if needed. Add Grade 12 activities to your resume.

Fall/Winter of senior year
Fill out applications by both school and college deadlines. Seek letters of recommendation if needed. Give teachers and counselors sufficient notice according to the Counseling Office's guidelines.

 October of senior year
If appropriate, beginning October 1, parents should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other financial aid forms, if required by the college, and file by the college specific deadline.

Spring
Attend job fairs. Maintain good grades and good attendance. Notify your counselor of your application status as you hear from colleges. Request a final transcript to be sent to the college you will attend in the fall. Notify the colleges you are not planning to attend. Perfect your job interviewing skills.
