From the Lunch Hour Aides:

After Thanksgiving, you will be permitted to have a special lunch with your child. Please call the office to let the school secretary know which day you prefer to come in. On the day of your visit, please stop in the office for a Visitor's badge before coming to the APR.

A tip for an even better lunch experience: work with your child to help them learn to open all of the items they bring in their lunches. Kids really do feel proud when they can do it all by themselves!

Lunchroom Standards:

  • Stay in your seat while you are eating your lunch.
  • Raise your hand if you need something.
  • Talk with an inside, soft voice.
  • Use good table manners at all times.
  • Do not leave the lunchroom without permission.
  • Wait until your table is called to clean up.
  • Stop talking when the lights are turned off and listen for directions.
  • Throw away all trash and remain quiet and listen for directions.

My School Bucks

All students have an individual account through our cafeteria software system. Deposits into the student accounts may be made through MySchoolBucks.com or by cash or check directly through the school cafeteria.

If you are unaware of your child's pin number for their account please feel free to contact the cafeteria at (301)840-7167.

Free and Reduced-Price Meals

Students may qualify for free or reduced-price meals based on household size and income. They may also qualify if they are receiving Food Supplement Program (FSP) or Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) benefits.

Families may apply for meal benefits by completing an Application for Free and Reduced-Price Meals for the current school year. New this year: For faster processing, households may apply online at MySchoolApps.com. A paper application is sent home with students at the beginning of the school year. Blank applications may also be picked up at any MCPS school. All students in the family should be listed on one application only. If students received meal benefits last year, a new application must be submitted this year. If an application is submitted online, please do not submit a paper application also. Return completed applications to any MCPS school or the Division of Food and Nutrition Services in person or by U.S. Mail.
