All student activities this afternoon [Wednesday, October 9], including extracurricular and athletic activities (both inside and outside schools) and all outdoor public activities are canceled at the Montgomery County Public Schools. Indoor public activities may continue this afternoon and evening.

Schools were closed already today for previously scheduled staff development programs, but some extracurricular and athletic activities for students had been scheduled this afternoon. Those activities have been canceled.

Community use of school facilities will continue but only for indoor public activities. All outdoor public activities at county schools have been canceled.

Schools are expected to open on time tomorrow, Thursday, October 10, and a decision about potential restrictions on school operations will be made later today.
