Career Camp for Middle School Students to be Held this Summer

March 13, 2002
This summer, incoming sixth, seventh, and eighth graders can have fun exploring different occupational careers during Career Camps 2002, offered through the Montgomery County Public Schools Division of Career and Technology Education. The 5-day camps will provide hands-on activities that allow participants to explore careers such as construction trades, culinary arts, health care, graphics and electronics.

Students have the option of attending a camp at Gaithersburg High School from June 24-28, one at Thomas Edison High School of Technology from July 8-12, or both. Participants will attend two classes daily from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with class size limited to 20 students. Transportation is the responsibility of the participants. The registration fee is $80 for one week, and tuition assistance is available for qualified applicants.

For more information or for application forms, call 301-517-8187. Applications also are available at all elementary and middle school guidance offices. Deadline for applications is April 15.
