Next Year’s Calendar Amended to Expand Spring Break, Change Last Day of School for Students

June 13, 2001
The calendar for the 2001-2002 school year was amended yesterday [Tuesday, June 12] by the Board of Education, expanding spring break for students and teachers to include Thursday, March 28, to incorporate the beginning of Passover.

The change also modified the end of the school year, adding an additional day in June for both students and teachers. The new last day for students is Thursday, June 20, and the last day for teachers is June 21. The end of school year changes also modified the contingency calendar that prescribes make-up days if the school year is disrupted by emergencies and schools are closed.

Spring break for students and teachers now will begin on Thursday, Mach 28, and continue from Tuesday, April 2 through Friday, April 5. The state-mandated holidays remain the same for Easter on Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1, in which all administrative offices and schools are closed.

The amended calendar is available on the web at the link below.
