Business Week Montgomery Offers Eighth Grade Students an Opportunity to Explore Career Options at a 'Students' Expedition'

April 22, 1999
Montgomery County eighth graders will have an opportunity to explore career options and participate in an interactive technology village during Business Week Montgomery '99.

The "Students' Expedition" is presented by the Greater Montgomery Chamber of Commerce and Montgomery Business Gazette on April 28 from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m. at the University of Maryland- Shady Grove Center, 9640 Gudelsky Drive in Rockville.

Students, accompanied by a parent or guardian "guide", will participate in a 15-minute presentation on science and technology. A robot will guide them through the Technology Village, featuring eight of Montgomery County's cutting-edge technology innovators, and then to Discover Montgomery Showcase, where they can ask questions of exhibitors.

Students will each receive a special passport that answers questions about exhibitors and makes them eligible to win a home computer. Students will also be able to vote for The Gazette's Students' Choice Award for the "coolest" business in Montgomery County. The award will be presented at the Spirit of Free Enterprise dinner, to be held at the Shady Grove Center on April 30th.
