Second "What's the BIG Idea?" Podcast Features CEO of Baltimore City Schools

December 12, 2012
The second episode of Superintendent Joshua Starr’s podcast, “What’s the BIG Idea?” is available on the MCPS website and on iTunes.

Dr. Starr began the podcast earlier this year to explore the issues and complexities of public education with a wide range of guests who hold a variety of viewpoints. The podcast is co-hosted by Christopher Lloyd, an MCPS teacher and vice president of the Montgomery County Education Association

For the latest episode, Dr. Starr and Mr. Lloyd were joined by Dr. Andrés Alonso, CEO of Baltimore City Public Schools. The discussion focused on a broad array of topics, including leadership and education reform.

The first episode of “What’s the BIG Idea?” featured
a conversation with Washington D.C.-based writer and education activist Sam Chaltain.

The podcasts can be found on the MCPS website and on iTunes. People wishing to send comments or ideas can do so by email to
