Media Advisory: Superintendent Starr to Hold First Community Day Event on Nov. 29 (Corrected)

Superintendent of Schools Joshua P. Starr will hold his first Community Day event of the 2012-2013 school year on Thursday, November 29, 2012 in the Damascus, Gaithersburg, Magruder and Watkins Mill clusters.

Dr. Starr will spend the day meeting with staff, visiting schools and hearing from parents. The Community Day will culminate with a Town Hall meeting at Shady Grove Middle School, 8100 Midcounty Highway in Gaithersburg from 7:30 to 9 p.m., where the public can ask questions and share thoughts and ideas.

Members of the media are invited to join Dr. Starr on his visit to Lois P. Rockwell Elementary School, 24555 Cutsail Drive in Damascus, from 10:35-11:15 a.m., and at the Town Hall meeting at Shady Grove Middle School.

Dr. Starr will hold a total of six Community Days throughout the school year during which he will visit each one of the district’s community school clusters.

-Thursday, December 13, 2013- Montgomery Blair, Albert Einstein, John F. Kennedy, Northwood, and Wheaton clusters

- Monday, January 14, 2013—Clarksburg, Northwest, Quince Orchard and Seneca Valley clusters 

- Monday, January 28, 2013—
Churchill, Richard Montgomery, Poolesville, Rockville and Wootton clusters 

- Monday, March 11, 2013—
Blake, Paint Branch, Springbrook and Sherwood clusters

- Monday, April 8, 2013—Bethesda-Chevy Chase, Walter Johnson, and Walt Whitman clusters
