Prekindergarten Registration Begins for 2012-2013 School Year

March 16, 2012
Registration has begun for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) prekindergarten and Head Start prekindergarten classes for the 2012-2013 school year.

MCPS offers Prekindergarten and Head Start for income-eligible children who will be four-years old by September 1, 2012, for the 2012–2013 school year.  These programs provide comprehensive services including preschool education, health and social services, and parental involvement for low-income families, including children with disabilities.

Additionally, limited Head Start community-based full-day/full-year openings are available at Montgomery College’s Rockville campus for parents receiving Working Parents Assistance or Purchase of Care, child care subsidies. These classes are open to children that will turn 3 or 4 by September 1, 2012.

Walk-in applications are being accepted Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Rocking Horse Road Center, 4910 Macon Road, Room 141 in Rockville. Parents also can register their children at other locations. A list of these locations, with dates and times, can be found on our website.

Call the Prekindergarten/Head Start Unit at 301-230-0676 for information about documents parents must bring to complete the registration. Information also is on the MCPS web site at the links below.
