Ten MCPS Students Earn Full-Tuition Scholarships from The Posse Foundation

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) seniors have won 10 Posse Scholarships—four year, full-tuition scholarships worth more than $100,000 each. The Posse Foundation, a college access and youth leadership program, identifies leaders from urban schools and sends them in multicultural teams (posses) to some of the nation’s top colleges.

More than 1,587 high school seniors were nominated for the prestigious scholarship this year.

The MCPS winners, their high schools and the colleges or universities they will be attending are:

Jordan Chacon, James Hubert Blake High School, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Milton Garcia, Albert Einstein High School, Grinnell College
Erica Horne, Montgomery Blair High School, Bucknell University
Sarah Houston, Walt Whitman High School, Pepperdine University
Nicole Huffman, Montgomery Blair High School, Grinnell College
Ingrid Maravilla, Northwood High School, Pepperdine University
Danyelle Smith, Rockville High School, Lafayette College
Taylor Smith, Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, Pepperdine University
