Northwood HS is NSCAA Soccer Team Academic Award Winner

Northwood High School in Silver Spring is one of only 68 schools nationwide (and three in the state of Maryland) that has earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom by both its boys and girls varsity soccer teams during the 2008-09 academic year.

To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.25 for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players.

Coach of the boys soccer team at Northwood is David Edlow (David_Edlow@mcpsmd.org ). Coach of the girls soccer team is Carlos Montalvan (Carlos_Montalvan@mcpsmd.org ).
