Rockville High School to Reopen on Wednesday, May 6, 2009

May 5, 2009
Rockville High School will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, May 6, 2009. The decision to reopen follows a new directive from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommending that schools not be closed as a result of probable flu cases within the school community. The decision also was made in consultation with State and County health officials. The school was originally closed on Friday, May 1, due to a probable case of the H1N1 (Swine) Flu involving a student.

“I have advocated for the reopening of Rockville High School,” said Dr. Jerry D. Weast, superintendent of schools. “It is critical that we get students back in school where they can continue their education.”
