Students Pitch Business Venture Plans at Expo

The Fourth Annual Montgomery County Entrepreneurship Expo will bring together student entrepreneurs and business leaders on April 21, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville.

The event is sponsored by the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Division for Career and Technology Education and the Montgomery College Macklin Center for Entrepreneurship. It will feature presenters from the business community and a countywide competition for college and high school students.

During the competition, students representing the MCPS Business Management and Entrepreneurship Program and the Montgomery College Macklin Center for Entrepreneurship will pitch plans for their business ventures to local business executives. Individuals and teams will vie for scholarships and other prizes.

The keynote address will be presented by Julie Kantor, Washington Director of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship and author of the book, I said Yes: Real Life Stories of Students, Teachers and Leaders. A panel of local entrepreneurs will share their personal stories of success.

The Universities at Shady Grove is located at 9630 Gudelsky Drive in Rockville. The Expo will take place in the Building One Auditorium. Event information is located at the link below.
