Summer Search 2007 Family Night Showcases Exciting Summer Opportunities for Students

Parents and students looking for summer programs that are challenging and fun will want to attend the 2007 Summer Search Family Night. The event, hosted by the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Division of Family and Community Partnerships, will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2007, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Richard Montgomery High School, 250 Richard Montgomery Drive, Rockville.

Family Night offers parents and students an opportunity to meet program directors, obtain applications, learn about scholarships, and receive a copy of the Summer Search 2007: Expanding Educational Horizons catalog. The catalog lists a wide variety of summer programs that focus on areas such as fine arts, math and science, college prep, internships, and sports—as well as more traditional camp programs.

The cost of attending each program varies. Some programs are free of charge, while others require tuition and/or travel expenses. Many programs offer scholarships or need-based financial assistance. Some senior-level programs allow students to obtain college credit.

For more information, call the Division of Family and Community Partnerships at 301-279-3100. Later this winter, the 2007 catalog will be posted in multiple languages on the MCPS Web site.
