A team of four students from James Hubert Blake High School was one of seven teams who won national awards for outstanding television journalism by high school students, presented by the Foundation of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The Blake students were the national winners in the “documentary” category. Their entry, titled "Not Invincible," is about the consequences of unsafe driving. Participating students are Caleb Negassa, Talana Lattimer, Jillian Lipton, and Joseph Matusek. They were assisted by Blake teacher Barbara Jeweler and media services technician Daniel Stuart.

The 2005 National winners, who were chosen from among 98 regional winners, received their awards at a ceremony held on June 15th in New York City. This is the third year the awards have been given.
