Agnes Meyer Award Nominations

An exceptional MCPS teacher will be selected for recognition and a $3,000 award in the annual Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Awards program sponsored by The Washington Post.

One teacher from each of the 19 public school systems in the Washington metropolitan area, plus one teacher representing private schools, will be honored in the awards program, which was established to recognize excellence in teaching, encourage creative and quality instruction, and contribute in a substantive way to the improvement of education in the Washington area.

Nominees must be full-time certified regular or special education teachers of pre-kindergarten through grade 12.

Nominations may come from teachers, students, former students, parents, administrators or the general public. Teachers may not nominate themselves.

Nomination packets should be sent to the Organizational Development Team, Upcounty Regional Services Center, 12900 Middlebrook Road, Suite 3305, Germantown, MD 20874, by 5 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2000.
