The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards has singled out MCPS for using top-notch professional standards when hiring, training and evaluating teachers. In an event on Capitol Hill, MCPS educators spoke about the benefits of having National Board Certified Teachers in classrooms and the positive impact of using the board’s rigorous professional standards for all teachers. The National Board runs the highly-esteemed National Board Certification process for teachers. More than 500 MCPS teachers have earned national certification.
