UMD CITE Program January 2020 Cohort Information Meeting

When: Wednesday, September 25, 2019 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM

Where: MCPS OHRD 45 W. Gude Drive, Rockville, MD

The University of Maryland Creative Initiatives in Teacher Education (CITE) program will hold an information meeting for MCPS paraeducators and other support professional staff with bachelor's degrees, who are interested in becoming certified teachers at the elementary level (grades 1- 6). The CITE partnership will allow participants to select a focus of special education or ESOL.

During the two and half year program, candidates work as paraeducators who must have a minimum of 2 hours a day in a grade level classroom working with a mentor teacher. Individuals are able to complete work-site internships without having to take leave.

All courses are offered in a hybrid model of online and face-to-face meetings in MCPS. The next CITE cohort will begin in January 2020.
Disclaimer: To be eligible for the partnership, individuals should be MCPS employees who have earned permanent status in a permanent position. Employees in temporary positions are not eligible for the CITE partnership.
