Leadership Points earned: 2 Points

How to claim your points: Contact a HIAT team member.

Timeline: Peer observations are conducted during the current school year

Research shows that effective leaders model best practices and are open to sharing their practices with others.  By opening your classroom to peer visitors, you are initiating a professional conversation that has the potential to continue beyond the day of the visit.  You can participate in this leadership activity as part of a walkthrough process or informally with one set of observers.

  • The intended purpose of the peer visit is to observe UDL practices in action and to collaborate professionally
  • You are open to sharing your materials, sharing teaching strategies, and answering questions that arise
