UPDATE─DECEMBER 31, 2021-Survey Now Closed

During the Board of Education meeting on December 2, 2021, the Board reviewed the Interim Superintendent’s recommendations for the 2022─2023 School Year Calendar. While the recommendation was closely aligned with the previously shared Scenario A (most preferred based on community survey results), there were some differences. Because of this and the follow up discussion at the Policy Management Committee meeting (on December 9, 2021), we are seeking additional community and stakeholder input. Below, Option 1 represents the recommendation that was presented on December 2, 2021, and Option 2 represents the additional proposal discussed at the December 9, 2021 meeting.

SIMILARITIES

Both Options include:

  • Monday, August 29, 2022 as the first day of school
  • 182 instructional days
  • Full spring break
  • Contingency/emergency days throughout the year

DIFFERENCES

Option 1 includes:

  • Friday, December 23, 2022 as a non-instructional day (no school for students and teachers)
  • The school year for ends (for students) on Friday, June 16, 2023.
  • The last day for teachers is Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

Option 2 includes:

  • Friday, December 23, 2022 as an early release day (for students)
  • The school year ends (for students) on Thursday, June 15, 2023.
  • The last day for teachers is Friday, June 16, 2023.

The Board of Education is seeking feedback on these two calendar options. Please share your 2022-2023 calendar recommendation feedback here by December 30, 2021. The Board of Education is scheduled to discuss and adopt a final school calendar on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
