Student Learning Objectives (SLOs)
Education Matters (October 2014): Board President Philip Kauffman discussed the new Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) that all teachers and administrators must write. SLOs provide educators with a tool to analyze student data, create specific goals for targeted groups of students, build strategies, monitor results, and reflect on their teaching. Guests talked about the implementation process, tips, and the benefits of SLOs. Guests included Loretta Woods, instructional specialist, Center for Skillful Teaching & Leading; Sarah Sirgo, consulting principal, Consulting Teachers Team; Jennifer Webster, principal, Damascus High School; and Traci Townsend, principal, Earle B.
