Announcements Thursday, February 9, 2012 Students if you have an early departure from school you must bring in your parent note to the attendance office before 7:20 in the morning. If your parent has forgotten to send in a note and you need to leave early, your parent should contact the main office and they will have a pass sent to you in order for you to leave. You must always sign out with your pass before leaving school grounds. AP registration has begun. Please bring your completed green registration forms with a check for payment anytime during all three lunches to the counseling conference room (office near the attendance office). If you have conflicting exams you MUST see Ms. Hitchcock in advance. Registration for overlapping exams will not be accepted without doing this first. No Cash will be accepted, please make sure you have the correct amount on ONE check for all exams. Registration will close February 24th. If you have any questions please see Ms. Hitchcock or Mr. Brown. Another reminder: Free Montgomery college applications are available in the career center, and will need to be returned by 2-17-12. Seniors: the deadline for required SSL hours is FAST approaching! Don’t wait until the last minute to turn in your forms!! If you still need hours or will be completing SSL hours soon, turn your forms in ASAP. The deadline for required SSL for graduation is Friday April 27! Seniors who have documented 260 or more SSL hours by the first Friday in April will be awarded a Certificate of Meritorious Service. This year due to spring break all documentation for this award is due to the SSL box by Thursday, April 12. Don’t wait until the last minute to turn in your forms!! Turn in your forms ASAP!! Current Sophomores and Juniors interested in applying for the Math Honor Society: Please pick up an application from Mrs. Rajter in Room 268 before or after school. The requirements include having a 3.0 GPA; a 3.5 Math GPA; as well as, being currently enrolled in, or having completed Honors Pre-calculus. The deadline is March 23rd, so please allow your teachers enough time to write your recommendations. Attention Best Buddies Members!! There will be a monthly Chapter Meeting Wednesday, February 15th right after school in Room 174. Please plan to attend. A sign-up sheet for snacks will be posted on the Best Buddies bulletin board this week, please stop by and sign up to bring something. Attention seniors. If you placed an order for the senior class picture, please stop by room 41 to pick up your picture during your lunch period only. The Wootton Hockey Team plays its last regular season game against BCC on Friday, 2/10 at 8:00 pm at Cabin John Ice Arena. We will be honoring our seniors Anthony Corini, Sam Haven and Patrick Sheridan before the puck drops!! Come out and cheer your team on to VICTORY!! An informational parent meeting for Boys Lacrosse will be held at 7PM on Monday, February 13th in the cafeteria. This will be for both Varsity and JV teams. Make sure to stop by for the sophomore class Valentine’s Day Bake Sale on Tuesday, February 14th for a sweet treat (or two) to give your special someone or even yourself. Attention all avid Spanish Learners: The deadline for your application to the Spanish Honor Society is next Monday, February 13th. You must turn in your paperwork to Ms. Cruz in room 145 by 2:10.
