Scholarship and Award Opportunities

Here is another good opportunity to honor students in a public manner:
The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity again encourages H.S. Principals, Career Counselors, Counselors and Teachers to "honor outstanding African American students of MCPS for their accomplishments in the areas of

Academics
Athetics
Arts
Citizenship
Versatility.

These awards are named after famous African American men who were members of the APA Fraternity."

The awards for these 4 categories will be held on Sunday, May 3rd and are open to the public, for which families, school administrators and faculty.

Nominations can include any/all students who qualify (including young African American women) , so please do not hesitate to nominate several students whom you think qualify for recognition in any category.
