Ms. Ashley Tauber

Instrumental Music Teacher

I am Ms. Tauber, the director of bands and orchestras. This is my 8th year at Wood where I teach five classes during the school day: Beginning Band, Intermediate Band, Advanced Band, Beginning Orchestra, and Advanced Orchestra. I also lead two music groups after school: Jazz Band in the fall and Pit Orchestra in the spring. Some days you can find me helping out with Rockville High School’s marching band and pit orchestra.

I attended the University of Maryland where I completed both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. My favorite composers are Claude Debussy (who started composing at age 10!) and Rio Noda, composer of new age saxophone music. In my spare time when I am not listening to, arranging, practicing, or performing music, I enjoy running, spending time with my family and friends, working on my photography skills, and going to all types of concerts. I also perform with a professional saxophone quartet- come out and see us!

I teach in the band/orchestra room (202), and my doors are open to all students! Let me know how I can help you develop your musical skills or learn a new instrument!
