Principal - Ms. Heidi Slatcoff

Ms. Slatcoff is beginning her 15th year in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). A Pennsylvania native, Ms. Slatcoff migrated to MCPS where she began her teaching career. Her first teaching assignment was at Churchill High School where she taught special education. There she worked with students who had learning disabilities as well as coached girls' and boys' volleyball. After three years of teaching, she started her journey as an administrator within the county. Ms. Slatcoff was an assistant school administrator at Churchill High School for three years and then became an assistant principal at Robert Frost Middle School for three years, and most recently at Forest Oak Middle School for the past three years. She is excited to join the Earle B. Wood family and be a part of something special. Ms. Slatcoff believes in the importance of maintaining high expectations for all students and staff along with developing meaningful relationships. She is committed to continuing the amazing traditions Wood has established and will do whatever it takes to continue making Wood a great place!

When Ms. Slatcoff is not at school, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, listening to music, attending sporting events, and going to the beach.

 

Assistant Principal - Mr. Roy Liburd

Mr. Liburd grew up in Rockville and is a proud graduate of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). During his 16-year career in MCPS, Mr. Liburd has been a para-educator, a teacher in special education, history and English, a special education resource teacher, and an assistant school administrator. He is excited to now serve the Wood Middle School community in his first year as assistant principal. Mr. Liburd believes that school should be a place where students explore their interests, develop their skills, and feel safe and supported. He is committed to building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to ensure that we are all doing our best to meet the needs of every student.

When Mr. Liburd is not at school, he appreciates spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys cooking, sports (particularly the Wizards and Redskins), and collecting tennis shoes.

 

 Assistant Principal - Mr. Geoffrey Prin

Mr. Prin is a proud graduate of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). He started his teaching career in MCPS as an English teacher and would later go on to serve as a team leader and staff development teacher. Mr. Prin is excited to join the Earle B. Wood community for its long-standing commitment to excellence and its diverse population. Mr. Prin believes all middle school students can achieve high levels of success when applying appropriate strategies and effort.  He is committed to fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders to promote a culture of continuous learning and to ensure equitable academic and social emotional success for all students.

When Mr. Prin is not at school, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, coaching youth lacrosse, and trying to complete home improvement projects that he has seen on HGTV.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Assistant Principal - Mr. Robert "Robbi" Watson

Mr. Watson is beginning his 13th year in education. An Ohio native, Mr. Watson moved to Maryland and started his career in Prince George's County Public Schools. There he served as a teacher for seven years at Samuel Ogle Middle School and one year as an instructional lead teacher at Northview Elementary. After eight years of teaching, he began his administrative journey as an assistant principal in Calvert County Public Schools - first at Plum Point Elementary for three years and then at Northern Middle School during the 2016-2017 school year. Mr. Watson is excited to be a part of the Wood family and to work with the students, staff, parents, and community members. He is committed to building positive relationships and ensuring that students achieve their goals while at Earle B. Wood Middle School.

When Mr. Watson is not at school, he enjoys spending time with his wife, friends, and dogs, as well as playing softball and golf.
