After school clubs are a collaborative effort with the Woodlin PTA, school staff, and county programs. Woodlin staff offer academic clubs for students as part of our intervention support program. Club topics are selected by staff based on a review of student performance data and specific students are asked to participate. For the fall session, the following academic clubs are being offered. All academic clubs are at no cost to students who participate.

Woodlin Academic Clubs:
ESOL Club
2nd – 4th grade students work on test taking strategies. Students must commit to participating in the club all 3 eight week sessions. Attendance is closely monitored. Staff: Rita Mata and Barbara Schweitzer |
4th/5th Grade Math Club
Combined grade levels will work on math skills, primarily algebra and number sense. Staff: Athena Wallace |
5th Grade Math Club
Students will receive support with the 5th grade curriculum. Staff: Sharon Jones |
1st Grade Reading Club
Students will work on phonics and decoding skills. Skills will be determined by needs identified in various data sources. Staff: Sharon Grotsky |
3rd Grade Club
This club will focus on reading comprehension and decoding. Staff: Michele Carter |
Science Club
This club is part of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute science grant. This grant is designed to increase student access and opportunity to engage in inquiry based science lessons outside of school. The club meets all 3 sessions and culminates in attendance at a science inquiry conference. Staff: Avery Beeson |
All clubs end promptly at 4:15 PM. Parents please do not park infront of the school on Tuesday or Thursday.
