After school clubs are a collaborative effort with the Woodlin PTA, school staff, and county programs. Woodlin staff offer academic clubs for students as part of our intervention support program. Club topics are selected by staff based on a review of student performance data and specific students are asked to participate.

Fall 2009 After School Clubs Registration Information

For the fall session, the following clubs are being offered:

Academic Focus Clubs - These clubs are taught by Woodlin staff and are free to students who participate. Focus clubs are designed to support and extend student learning in reading, writing, science, and English language learning. Students are selected for clubs and will recieve an invitation to each club based on academic data and course enrollment.

Just for Fun Clubs - These clubs are taught by parents, volunteers and/or Woodlin staff and have a fee. Clubs are offered to enrich student learning through the arts and sports. Open to all students based on the target age group for each club.

Mad Science - This organization focuses on imaginative learning opportunities in science. Led by trained outside instructors. Students engage in hands-on, themed activities, watch demonstrations, and participate in inquiry-based discussions and take home things they have made themselves.

Foreign Language - Part of Just for Fun clubs, the focus of this club is on exposure to a foreign language with emphasis on oral acquisition through songs, games, cultural notes and a sequential curriculum. Spanish available for K-2 and French possible based on enrollment interest.

All clubs end promptly at 4:15 PM. Parents please do not park infront of the school on Tuesday or Thursday.
