We are now in the world of the Renaissance.  Our objective is to uncover for ourselves just
what is was that made this period a turning point in European as well as world history.

Working in groups, students will explore the aesthetic elements of Renaissance art.  Each
group will present information on the life and times of the assigned artist.  In actuality, the
biographical information  should be the smallest part of your presentation.  What we really want to know is essentially one thing, to wit, what is it that makes the selected artist an innovator in the world of visual arts.

Each group will prepare and present a poster of the artist with examples of his work.  You will be judged on the overall effect of your poster and the extent to which it yields us an understanding which we did not heretofore possess.

Each group must also prepare a 10 minute oral presentation for the class, and  must address the question, "How are we personally and aesthetically effected by the work of this master?"
