How is the U.S. addressing the issue of Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iran?

INTRODUCTION:  In the first paragraph introduce your topic, give a broad overview of the elements of the paper including the current U.S. relationship with Iran and the state of Iran’s nuclear development program. Conclude the paragraph with your thesis. In this case the thesis will simply state how effective you think U.S. relations with Iran have been in deterring Iran’s development of nuclear weapons and protecting U.S. national security.  In your final paragraph you will use information from the paper to go into details about the effectiveness.

  • What is the situation regarding the development of weapons of mass destruction, particularly nuclear weapons, by Iran?  Why are the U.S. and other countries concerned?
  • Explain the history the United States has had with Iran, including the issue of weapons of mass destruction.

NOTE:  Go back far enough in history to discuss the U.S. support of the Shah of Iran, the Iranian hostage crisis of 1979, the U.S. role in the Iran-Iraq war, and continue through present day relations.
