1. Task Definition

HIV-AIDS is a pandemic disease and the dilema of treating this or a similar disease is overwhelming. The purpose of this project is to research possible solutions and potential obstacles associated with eradicating or curing this or a similar deadly disease.

Assume a country like the United States has medicnes and treatments for HIV-AIDS or a similar deadly disease and will send these medicines or treatments free of charge to a less developed or under developed country.

Your task is to: Devise and illustrate a plan to get these medications and treatments to the affected people.

1. Choose a less developed or under developed country. suggested countries may be inAfrica, Central or South America, Eastern Europe, Russia, or Southeast Asia. Type a brief report on this background information and the current conditions of that country. Be sure to include most or all of the following:

  • Life expectancy
  • Health care system
  • Transportation system
  • Cultural issues - including religious, sexual or class discrimination
  • Average income level
  • communication system - including common languages
  • Medical resources (inc. Persons needed once medicnies get to the country - i.e. people to administer)
  • Religious considerations
  • Education

Considering your answers to question #1, how could the medicines/treatment logically and realistically get to the affected individuals?

As a group, devise a plan or strategy.

Summarize this plan.

AND
Create a visual to illustrate your plan.
Examples: graphic organizer, Venn diagram, WEB diagram, etc.

Be prepared to present your visual to the class.

3. What are possible obstacles or deterrents to your plan? Explain? / Why?
