Task Definition: What am I supposed to do?

The objectives of this assignment are:

to develop an understanding of the inspiration for Arthur Miller's The Crucible.
to practice research skills learned during the inquiry unit.
to practice good summarizing skills in oral communication.
to practice good note-taking skills.

Library/Media Center Assignment:

Pick a category from the topics listed below
Complete as much research as possible during the three class visits to the Media Center.
Create note and source cards on your topic. You will need three sources,
including one electronic and one encyclopedia.
Create a Works Cited list.

Class Assignment:

Give a 3-5 minute talk to the class on your selected topic, stressing the important points so that the audience understands the essence of your topic. Students will be taking notes on each presentation.
Take an open-note quiz on the various topics.
