Media Hours
During our open hours, students may exchange books anytime during the instructional day with teacher permission. We are open daily from 8:40 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Mission and Vision
The staff at Wilson Wims Elementary School Media Center accepts the responsibility in promoting the value of libraries and is focused on providing a safe and welcoming environment for staff and students to appreciate the power of information. Our mission is to prepare individuals in becoming independent critical readers, thinkers, and information users. We support and encourage a passion for knowledge and a love of reading. We are dedicated to providing equitable access of information in multiple formats which will enhance the information literacy skills of our lifelong learners.Circulation Policy
Grade Level | Circulation Type/Limit | Loan Period |
K - 1 | 2 book | 2 weeks |
2 - 4 | An amount that students can read within a week so they are returning their book in a timely manner. | 2 weeks |
- All materials must be checked out at the circulation desk.
- Students who have overdue material may not check out other material until the overdue material is returned.
- Students may check out additional items for special projects/assignments with approval by the media specialist or the media assistant.
- All materials can be renewed unless the material is on hold for another patron.
Overdue and Lost Material Policy
No fines will be incurred for overdue books, but students are responsible for paying for lost or books damaged beyond repair. Overdue notices will be distributed to classroom teachers at least once a month.
