The manual is available for purchase in the Media Center.The research manual is designed to help students learn the skills necessary to produce an organized and well-documented paper. From learning to identify reliable sources, cite them properly and record notes, to the final preparation of the Works Cited page, the research process is divided into manageable pieces. Both MLA and APA citation formats are presented.

Plagiarism and Fair Use
In an effort to avoid plagiarism and copyright infringement, it is often difficult to determine what is FAIR USE for educational purposes. The web sites below provide helpful definitions and tools for this purpose. A legal principle that limits the rights of copyright holders. "Fair use" refers to the provision in the Copyright Act that allows unauthorized, limited use of a copyrighted work in certain situations that are in the public benefit (e.g., research, criticism, news reporting, and teaching).
