A comprehensive public senior high school, Wheaton High School has a full complement of challenging academics and innovative programs including an Honors program, an Advanced Placement program, and a Freshman Academy. Wheaton High School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and by the Maryland State Department of Education.

GRADING SYSTEM
GRADE POINT AVERAGEBoth weighted and unweighted grade point averages are reported on the school transcript. A weighted grade point average is calculated by adding one quality point to an A, B, or C grade for all courses in the honors program. Grades of A, B, or C in advanced placement and advanced-level courses are also weighted. Montgomery County Public Schools no longer provides class rank.
