Department Overview

Welcome to the Academy of Engineering web page of Wheaton High School. Our department strives to provide our students with an intergrated, experience-based instructional program. Over the years, the program at Wheaton has received much recognition including Program of Excellence Award from our county, state, U.S. House of Representative and international organizations.

This program is designed to prepare student to have knowledge about technology - its evolution, systems, technologies utilization, and social and cultural significance. It results in the application of mathematical and science concepts to technological systems in areas such as, but not limited to: contruction, manufacturing, communication, transportation, biotechnology, and power and energy. Students are challenged to discover, create, solve problems, and contruct solutions by using a variety of tools, machines, computer systems, materials, processes, and technology systems.

Over the past several years, our students have completed in and won a variety of state and local Technology Competition in the fields of robotics, civil engineering, aeronautical engineering, and transportation.
