The Program
We believe that participation in athletics will have a positive impact on student achievement, behavior, attendance and character development. Therefore, it is our goal to encourage every Wheaton student to participate in the athletic program during their years here. We offer Varsity and JV teams in a wide variety of sports in three seasons, over three seasons, during the school year. In order to be academically eligible, students must have a 2.0 GPA from the previous quarter, with no more than one failing grade. Before being allowed to participate, students must have a physical (good for one calendar year), and a signed parent permission form. Students who wish to play a sport should contact the coach, or come to the Athletic Office, across from the main gym entrance. See general information.
Eligibility
In order to be academically eligible, students must have a 2.0 GPA from the previous quarter, with no more than one failing grade. Grades are monitored by coaches during the season. Players will be required to periodically carry a grade sheet to their teachers, and may be asked to sit out games and practices in order to improve grades. In addition to the homework center, the Athletic Department will provide study hall opportunities for athletes.
Required forms for tryouts Before participating, students must have a physical (good for one calendar year), and a signed Wheaton High School contract form.
