I went to elementary school in Aspen Hill, then moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania for middle school, and then back to Maryland for high school. I got my bachelor's degree at the University of Maryland and my master's degree at Hood College. I have almost always known that I would grow up and work with kids. As a child, my favorite game was, "Kick the Can." My most memorable book character is Kay Scarpetta from Patricia Cornwell's novels. My favorite part of teaching is working with children and seeing the "light bulb moment" when they really get a new topic.
