Middle Years Programme → Transition to International Baccalaureate Diploma Program
Transition to High School
In the transition from middle to high school, 8th grade students, along with their parents, will choose whether or not to continue in the program for Grades 9 and 10. Students who select this option understand that they are committing themselves to all honors level classes, completion of the Personal Project (an independent research project) and community and service expectations. Students will be awarded a certificate upon successful completion of program requirements. As a general rule, students interested in this option will need to complete Algebra 1 and at least level 1 of a foreign language by the end of Grade 8 to be eligible for an MYP Certificate.
During Grade 10, students will have the opportunity to apply to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at Richard Montgomery High School for Grades 11 and 12.
