Study Skills Night
Tuesday, October 24, 2017 6:30 PM
Skills Night is coming: Thursday, October 24th from 6:30 to
8:05 pm. There are two 45-minute sessions. You can choose from a
variety of subjects: math, world languages, writing, general study skills, and
how to research/ resource help with Ms. Salnick, our media center specialist, who will be
presenting how best to research and use online and print resources available in
the media center. Each
session and topic is packed with helpful tips and advice for how to study and
get organized in middle school — and is valuable no matter what your student’s
Grade Point Average. This is the best academic evening at
Westland--especially if you are new to middle school. A few details:
alone are welcome. Students alone are welcome. Parents and Students
together are welcome. We offer each session twice so that everyone
can sign up for two different topics — or you can go to two offerings and
your child can attend two different ones!
- Please use
the online sign-up and select the sessions you would like
to attend and indicate how many seats you will need. If both
a parent and student will be attending the same session,
please do indicate that you will need two seats. We need to
make sure we have space for everyone who wants to attend. Space is
limited, so we do need to know if you will be attending.
- Room numbers
and teachers are noted under each session.
- Please make
plans for dinner on your own.
thank our dedicated Westland teachers leading these valuable
sessions: Mr. Katz, Ms. Fuentes, Mr. Scribner, Ms. Keyani, and Ms.
Salnick. Special thanks to Ms. Hennessy for organizing.
